In 2023, Shiwu and his friends travelled to the Maldives. The sea of Rasdhoo did not just leave this trip in photo albums; instead, it brought together a group of people passionate about diving, travel and island life. The name of 1586 Dive Centre derives from "Shiwu (Fifteen) and Baliu (Eight‑Six)". It is a professional Chinese‑language dive centre on the local inhabited island of Rasdhoo, Maldives. Founded in 2023, it is committed to providing localised, high‑quality professional diving training and island diving experiences for Chinese‑speaking diving enthusiasts and travellers worldwide.
The dive centre is affiliated with PADI, the world‑renowned diving authority, and has been certified as a PADI 5‑Star Dive Centre. Thanks to its standardised teaching system, high student pass rate and excellent service reputation, it now ranks first among all Chinese‑language dive shops across the Maldives in terms of PADI certification issuance volume.
Our centre is fully‑equipped with complete in‑house supporting facilities. We operate our own dhoni dive boat with 30 dive seats, an upper deck lounge area, speedboats and an independent tank filling system. All operations are managed in‑house without outsourcing or shared group combining, to maximise diving experience and travel safety.
The dive centre offers the full range of PADI diving courses, including: Open Water (OW), Advanced Open Water (AOW), Rescue Diver, EFR Emergency First Response, Divemaster and other complete progression programmes.
Our strong instructor team is permanently stationed on the island with extensive experience. The on‑site permanent team currently consists of six full‑time certified PADI instructors, one Divemaster, one MSDT, one dedicated online general diving physician, and one dermatologist on call for health support. Our core Chinese instructor is the first Chinese diver in Rasdhoo Atoll to log over 1000 dives locally. Familiar with the seabed terrain and marine ecology of surrounding dive sites, he adjusts dive itineraries in real‑time according to weather and sea conditions to deliver safer, more professional and authentic Maldivian diving experiences for students and divers.
